You will need index cards, and an index card box
Every index card MUST be hand-written by the person seeking the points
Depending on the material covered in an individual nine week period, the student will do the following:

We will start the course on page 51 (Chapter 1, Lesson 3) so the Content Vocabulary for this lesson can be found on page 51 on the left under the Reading Help Desk. Example for Chapter 1, Lesson 3's words include the following:
p. 51 Content Vocabulary: Revenue Tariff, Protective Tariff, Spoils System, Temperance, and Emancipate; the Academic Vocabulary for this section includes Controversy, and predominantly.
You would continue this process for EVERY lesson, in every Chapter we cover this year.
On the FRONT of the index card for both Content and Academic Vocabulary, write the Key Term, e.g. CORN (and the # term it is for that group)
On the BACK of the index card for Content Vocabulary: Identify what the term is & write a short evaluation (minimum of two sentences) of the significance of the term in context
On the BACK of the index card for Academic Vocabulary: In your own words write the word's definition and write a sentence using the word in historical context.
ALL the material on each card MUST be legible, thus starting a day or couple of days before the due date will likely not give suffice.
All cards for each of the respective nine-week chapter lessons must be numbered and color-coded and sorted by Chapter.
Each Content card will equal 2 points earned out of 2 points possible (points system of 2/2, this is NOT extra credit of 2/0), and each Academic Vocabulary will be worth one point each.
Due Dates: ALL work is due in class during the eight week of each nine-week period as discussed above.

The APUSH course themes can be found on page xviii in the 2015 Newman Edition, and are as follows: Identity-(ID) (National and/or Local), Work, Exchange, and Technology (WXT),Peopling (PEO), Politics and Power (POL), America in the World (WOR), Environment and Geography-Physical & Human (ENV), and Ideas, Beliefs, and Culture (CUL).
Pages where the KTBT can be located, but are not exclusively found, include: #14, 39, 56, 78, 96, 119, 143, 166, 184, etc.
